For 20 years colorganics™ have been committed to making cosmetic products that bear the Hemp Organics™ name, to be as close to the USDA Certified Organic standards for foods as cosmetics can be.

We believe that our customers should feel that when they buy our Hemp Organics™ products they are getting cosmetics that are as close to Certified Organic Food Standards as can possibly be while continuing our long time support of organic agriculture and fairly traded raw materials.

Therefore, we are proud to announce that we have completed USDA organic certification on the base of the Hemp Organics lip care products that we manufacture. This means that our products are 95+ percent certified organic ingredients to which we add simple natural and mineral pigments to complete the formulation.

The base of Hemp Organics cosmetic products are certified to NOP Certified Organic food standards by Quality Assurance International (QAI).

QAI is an independent third party certifying agency that the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) has entrusted to review applications and formulas and has granted Hemp Organics™ certification in accordance with the criteria established under the USDA's strict Certified Organic Food Standards.

Ingredients Used To Create colorganics™ Organic Lip Products

Beeswax: Four thousand years ago in Egypt, the honeybee was regarded as a symbol of royalty. The honeybee, Apis Mellifera, secretes beeswax in order to build up a cell in which honey is stored. The wax first secreted by the honeybee is a transparent colourless liquid, which turns into a solid substance on contact with air. Beeswax varies in colour from yellow through brown, and it is believed that the local pollen carried by the bee affects the colouration. Beeswax helps your lips seal in moisture and protect from the wind and cold.

Carmine: A natural bright red pigment used in natural foods and cosmetics to replace synthetic petroleum-derived FD&C colourants.

Cocos nucifera (coconut) Oil: is used as a natural skin moisturiser, absorbing quickly and helping to ease dry skin.

Copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax: Our certified organic carnauba wax is obtained from the leaves of the palm tree Copernica cerifera, which is also referred to as the "Tree of Life". This slow-growing palm flourishes in northeastern Brazil, where it thrives along riverbanks and streams. The palm exudes a wax through its fan-shaped leaves, preventing dehydration from the harsh equatorial climate. Carnauba wax helps your lips seal in moisture and protect from the wind and cold.

Hemp Seed Oil: Our cold pressed certified organic hemp seed oil is light, non-greasy, readily absorbs into your skin, is very emollient, and has rejuvenating and moisturising properties for the sensitive skin of your lips. It acts as an anti-inflammatory, is anti-ageing, balances dry skin, helps fight skin inflammations and heal skin lesions. Hemp Seed Oil also has a high percentage of Essential Fatty Acids, anti-oxidants, and contains moisture-balancing properties. These vitamins and minerals present in Hemp Seed Oil are easily absorbed through the delicate skin of your lips, resulting in moister and softer lips after only a few weeks of using Hemp Organics products.

Iron Oxide: A naturally occurring mineral in red, orange, brown and black colours. Used to replace synthetic petroleum-derived FD&C colourants in our products.

Mica: A naturally occurring mineral used to create shimmer.

Ricinus communis (castor) oil: Our certified organic castor oil is a thick natural oil, extracted from the castor bean, which acts as a humectant by drawing and holding moisture from the air. This moisturising quality makes castor oil well-suited to condition normal, damaged and delicate hair, protect against the sun, and restore dry skin. Castor oil further aids in the transfer of beneficial properties of essential oils through the skin follicles.

Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil: Our certified organic Jojoba oil is used for its outstanding emollient and regenerative properties. Jojoba oil has film forming and conditioning qualities and it is a first choice ingredient particularly for dry, damaged lips.
• Sourced from an organic farm in Arizona.

Helianthus annuus (sunflower) oil: Sunflower oil contains natural lecithin, tocopherols, carotenoids and plant waxes, all of which provide antioxidant protection and are naturally moisturising and protective of your skin.

Titanium Dioxide: A naturally occurring white opaque mineral that is an excellent natural sunscreen.

Non-GMO Tocopherol (Vitamin E): The most important and well known biological function of Vitamin E is related to its antioxidant properties. Internally, Vitamin E is the most effective antioxidant in the body. It protects cellular structures against damage from free radicals and the by-products of oxidation. It acts as a free radical scavenger to prevent cell damage. When used topically, Vitamin E may decrease some of the harmful effects of solar radiation on the skin. Topical Vitamin E moisturises the skin from within, reduces UV induced damage, helps to protect against ozone damage and decreases erythema (redness of the skin) after sun exposure. This makes it excellent for use in sun care products, including lip balms.
